Through sponsorship of desk tops, computers and furniture, Melisizwe has been able to establish the Melisizwe Makers Hub at the iconic Metalbox building in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
Here we provide a space where youth can learn, research, explore, create and gain valuable employment experience. They can also begin their entrepreneurial journey with the skills and training we will provide.
We also plan to virtually train unemployed youth at the schools where we’ve set up computer infrastructure as well as schools that already have infrastructure schools (satellite sites) from the hub enabling us to reach more people. This allows us to use the Hub as a base to
multiply our impact.
The Hub will also be used to deliver the Girls in Stem program which means girls from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic conditions can take part in the program. In addition, Melisizwe Makers will ultimately serve as a business incubation hub for youth wishing to venture into entrepreneurship.
